Henrietta R (Slugai) Matusiewicz

Mrs. Henrietta R. Slugai Matusiewicz, 92, died Thursday, May 7, 2020 in the St. Joseph’s Senior Home & Nursing Center – Long Term Care in Woodbridge, New Jersey.

Mrs. Matusiewicz, the daughter of the late Veronica Meduna Slugai and the late Frank Slugai, was born and raised in Linden, New Jersey.  She resided in Clark, New Jersey from 1953 to 2014, at which time Mrs. Matusiewicz relocated to Fanwood, New Jersey until 2017, when she settled in Woodbridge, New Jersey.

Mrs. Matusiewicz loved playing Bingo at many of the church halls and other local venues where the game was offered. 

She was predeceased by her husband, Joseph J. Matusiewicz on October 16, 1970 and her daughters, Carol Aniello on December 8, 2018 and Jean Picone on February 24, 2019.

Mrs. Matusiewicz is survived by her daughter, JoAnn Doyle and her husband, William, her son-in-law, Joseph Picone; her brother, Joseph Slugai; her three grandchildren, William Doyle, Jr. and his wife, Shauna, Kathryn Byrne and her husband, John and David Picone and his wife, Nichole and her great grandchild, Grace Picone.

Due to the COV-19 federal and state restrictions on public gatherings, all funeral services will be private.  That privacy will also extend to the prayers of committal, as well as, Mrs. Matusiewicz’s burial in the family plot in Rosedale Cemetery in Linden, New Jersey.
