Ms. Henrietta C. Kerpet, 95, entered her eternal rest on Thursday, January 23, 2025.
On Wednesday, July 9th. at 9:45AM, family and friends are asked to gather directly at St. Theresa of the Child Jesus Roman Catholic Church, Linden where a memorial funeral mass will be offered at 10:00AM, followed by the burial of Henrietta’s cremated remains in the family plot in St. Gertrude’s Cemetery in Colonia. The cremation in Rosehill Cemetery, Linden was private.
Henrietta, the daughter of the late Jean Koscinski Kerpet and the late Adolph Kerpet, was born in Nanticoke, Pennsylvania. She resided in Linden for over forty years prior to moving to Woodridge in 2000 for health reasons, while still maintaining her Linden presence.
A Registered Nurse (RN), Henrietta worked for many years as industrial nurse for Interbake Foods in Elizabeth. At the time of her entry into the work force, Henretta was certainly a ground breaker in what and where women were allowed to work. In her spare time, Henrietta made sure to travel the country, expanding her horizons and soaking up other cultures. A voracious reader, she thoroughly sought and enjoyed the solitude of opening a book, never knowing what awaited her between the pages.
Henrietta is survived by her two nephews, David Gomolka and Gerry Gomolka, her two grand nephews, Daniel Gomolka and Jonathan Gomolka and her neighbors and friends.
May the angels lead thee to paradise, Henrietta; may the martyrs come to welcome you and take you to the holy city, the new and eternal Jerusalem.
