Halina was born on January 1st, 1946 to parents Jan and Stefania (Forysiuk) Szumiata, in Toporzyk, Poland where she grew up. She worked many years as a bookkeeper for WSK in Swidnik, and raised a beautiful family with her husband Wladyslaw. She moved to the United States in 1991 to the Linden area, before settling in Roselle.
Halina was a woman of great faith and devotion. She was a previous president and member of the St. Joseph the Carpenter R.C. Church in Roselle, along with being active in their prayer and rosary groups. Her faith was extremely important to her, but wasn’t Halina’s only hobby. She enjoyed knitting and doing crochet work, reading classic books, and loved to listen to symphonies and orchestras. Halina also had a knack for 1970’s American music, and watching classic movies. Halina was blessed with a beautiful life, a wonderful family, and a full heart, and will be greatly missed by many.
Halina is predeceased by her parents Jan and Stefania Szumiata, her loving husband Wladyslaw Karbowniczyn, and her daughter Malgorzata Cieslak.
She is survived by her son Krzysztof Karbowniczyn, her daughter Barbara Dobel and her husband Hubert, her six grandchildren, her brother Ryszard Szumiata, and her sister Grazyna Ostrowska, and many other extended family and friends.
Halina’s faith was the light in her world, and may she now continue to be a light for her family in their time of need. May she rest in peace with our Lord.
