German Escobar Obituary

El Señor German Hugo Escobar “Huguito” se entregó a los brazos de Dios, el día Jueves 7 de Julio del 2022, rodeado del amor de su esposa, hijos y familiares.

Solicitamos respetuosamente que lleguen al horario indicado por la funeraria para no interrumpir el tiempo privado de la familia.

Familia y amistades están invitados para el velorio en Kowalski Funeral Home, 515 Roselle Street, Linden, New Jersey 07036 el martes 19 de julio, de 4:00 a 9:00PM. El miércoles 20 de julio invitamos a todos a reunirnos comenzando a las 8:15AM en la funeraria donde se dará inicio de la oración de despedida a las 8:45AM. Seguido por la misa de cuerpo presente que se ofrecerá en la iglesia de Immaculate Heart of Mary y St. Patrick’s Roman Catholic Church, 215 Court Street, Elizabeth, New Jersey 07206 a las 10:00am. Después de la iglesia, de camino al cementerio, pasaremos por la casa de la familia Escobar. Las oraciones continuarán y se darán en el entierro del Sr. Escobar en el espacio familiar de Rosedale Cemetery en Linden, New Jersey.

Hugo, hijo de Juana Casani y del difunto Germán Escobar, nació en Lima, Perú. Trabajo por muchos años fabricando baules tipo pirata, formando su propio negoció de fábrica de baules. Con más deseos de superación emigro a los Estados Unidos en agosto de 1986 y vivió un tiempo en el estado de California. Luego Hugo se mudó a New Jersey, donde residió en la cuidad de Elizabeth por 18 años antes de establecerse en el pueblo de Roselle por más de 16 años.

Hugo trabajó como especialista en almacenes para Performance Food Group en Elizabeth por más de 25 años y se jubiló en junio de 2021. En su tiempo libre le encantaba escuchar boleros, música criolla, salsa y bachata. La verdadera pasión de Hugo era ver el fútbol, especialmente a la Selección Peruana, “Arriba Peru!” y también al equipo de sus amores, Alianza Lima Corazon de la “Rica Vicky”.  A Hugo le encantaba su comida Peruana, sus platos favoritos eran el lomo saltado, ceviche y tallarines rojos con su papa a la huancaína y nunca podia faltar su rica Inca Kola, al tiempo.

Precedido de los hermanos fallecidos Gloria Escobar y Balfery “Pele” Zamora. A Hugo le sobreviven, su querida esposa Olga Rosa Vilchez con 47 años de casados; Sus 4 hijos, Javier G. Escobar, Danny J. Escobar, Hugo “Edy” Escobar y Erika M. Escobar-Rivera y su esposo, Luis A. Rivera; Su mamá Juana Casani, sus 6 hermanos y hermanas, Oscar Escobar, Robin Escobar, Enrique Zamora, Rosario Zamora, Anicia Zamora y Consuelo “Chela” Zamora; Sus 6 nietos, Brian Escobar, Sayed Escobar, Mason L. Rivera, Emely Escobar, Ryan Escobar y Amelia R. Rivera más conocida como su “Chacha”.

Hugo era el centro de vida para su familia y tenía mucho amor por todos en su círculo, Era la chispa de la familia Escobar y devoto del Señor de los Milagros. Se le echará mucho de menos, pero nunca se le podrá olvidar.

We respectfully request that no one arrive at the funeral home prior to the posted visitation times, so as not to intrude on the family’s private time. 

The family requests that no pictures be taken in the funeral home

Family and friends are invited to the visitation in the Kowalski Funeral Home, 515 Roselle Street, Linden on Tuesday, July 19th from 4:00-9:00PM.  On Wednesday, July 20th at 8:15AM, everyone will start to gather in the funeral home where a prayer service will begin at 8:45AM, followed by the funeral mass to be offered in the Immaculate Heart of Mary & St. Patrick’s Roman Catholic Church, 215 Court Street, Elizabeth, New Jersey 07206 at 10:00AM. After church, on our way to the cemetery, we will be passing the family home.  The prayers of committal will precede Mr. Escobar’s burial in the family plot in Rosedale Cemetery in Linden, New Jersey.

Hugo, the son of Juana Casani and the late German Escobar, was born in Lima, Peru.  He worked for many years manufacturing pirate-type treasure chests, forming his own treasure chest business.  In August of 1986 he decided to immigrate to the United States and lived for a time in the state of California. Hugo then moved to New Jersey where he resided in Elizabeth for 18 years before settling in Roselle 16 years ago. 

Hugo was a warehouse specialist for Performance Food Group in Elizabeth for over 25 years and he earned his retirement in June of 2021.  In his spare time, he loved to listen to boleros, musica criolla, salsa and bachata.  Hugo’s real passion was watching soccer, especially the National Soccer Team of Peru, “Arriba Peru!” and Alianza Lima Corazón. Hugo loved his Peruvian food, his favorite dishes were lomo saltado, ceviche and red spaghetti with “papa a la huancaína” alongside his favorite drink, Inca Kola. 

Predeceased by his sister, Gloria Escobar and his brother, Balfery “Pelé” Zamora. Hugo is survived by his beloved wife of 47 years, Olga Rosa Vilchez; his 4 children, Javier G. Escobar, Danny J. Escobar, Hugo “Edy” Escobar and Erika M. Escobar-Rivera and her husband, Luis A. Rivera; his 6 brothers and sisters, Oscar Escobar, Robin Escobar, Enrique Zamora, Rosario Zamora, Anicia Zamora and Consuelo “Chela” Zamora; And his 6 grandchildren, Brian Escobar, Sayed Escobar, Mason L. Rivera, Emely Escobar, Ryan Escobar and Amelia R. Rivera better known as “Chacha”. 

Hugo was the center of life for his family, and he had an abundance of love for everyone in his circle. He was the spark of the Escobar family and a devoted follower of The Lord of Miracles; “El Señor de Los Milagros”.  He will be deeply missed, but he can never be forgotten.
