Geraldine, the daughter of the late Regina Redington Wharton and the late James Wharton, was born in Newark, New Jersey.  She lived in Elizabeth, New Jersey for many years, before relocating to Manchester, New Jersey, where Geraldine resided for over twenty years.  She then moved to Linden, New Jersey four years ago.

Everyone was always happy to be around Geraldine.  She was known to be the life of the party, whether Geraldine was dancing, listening to music and singing along, or just about anything that made her the center of attention.  She genuinely loved life and everything it had to offer, like her time spent with her precious pet dogs over the years or the beautiful blooming flowers of Spring and Summer.  These may seem like quite simple traits, but that’s what made Geraldine so special.  When it came right down to it, the most important part of Geraldine’s life was the love that she had for her family and friends; a love that was never ending. Geraldine loved children so much, that she was an active foster Mom for many boys and girls over the years.  Her nurturing love was a guiding light for many children.

Predeceased by her husband, Edward Nurnberger; her brother, James Wharton, Jr. and her former spouse, Robert Hans, Sr., Geraldine is survived by her two sons, Philip Hans and his wife, Mabel and Robert Hans, Jr. and his companion, Michelle Willman; her sister, Mary Kosten; her sister-in-law, Sandra Wharton; her four grandchildren, Joshua Hans, Robert (RJ) Hans, Cory Hans and Morgan Hans; her four great grandchildren, Anthony, Vinny, Gianna and Natalie; her former daughter-in-law, Annmarie Hans and her numerous nieces and nephews.

As per the regulations imposed through the State of New Jersey, there will now be a maximum of fifty (50) people allowed in the funeral home at one time.  Face protection is also required as per state regulations.  We thank you for your understanding during this time of transition.
