George Petroski Obituary

Mr. George Petroski, 69, died unexpectedly on Monday, January 10, 2022, in his home in Atlantic City, New Jersey.

George, the son of the late Genevieve Petroski and the late Peter Petroski was born in Elizabeth, New Jersey.  He lived in Elizabeth and Maplewood, New Jersey for most of his life before settling in Atlantic City, New Jersey five years ago.

George was something of a marketing entrepreneur and he worked for various companies throughout his career, and he finally started to enjoy his retirement three years ago.

During the Viet Nam Era, George served his country in the U.S. Army.  He was very much a “down the shore” kind of guy, who enjoyed being on the beach and simply walking the boards.  Sports were, of course, a part of his personal entertainment and you could find him rooting for the N.Y. Yankees baseball team, the New York Jets football team and in the earlier years, he was also a fan of the San Francisco 49ers.  However the part of George’s life that gave him the most joy was the effortless act of spending time with his family, especially his daughters and his granddaughter.  George made precious memories with his family that will carry them through the pain of his loss and he will always be in their hearts.

Predeceased by his sister, Frances Petroski, George is survived by his two daughters, Jenna Agostinacchio and her husband Christopher and Shannon Petroski; his two brothers Robert Petroski, and Christopher Petroski; his sister, Elizabeth Petroski and his beautiful granddaughter, Carmela Agostinacchio.

With respect of George’s wishes, all his funeral services will be private.
