Mr. Fritz Eugene, 75, died Monday, July 6, 2020 in the Genesis ElderCare Center in Westfield, New Jersey.
Family and friends are invited to the visitation in the Kowalski Funeral Home, 515 Roselle St., Linden, on Wednesday, July 15th. from 8:00-9:00AM. Following the visitation, everyone will say their last farewell before we gather in a formal procession to Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary/Saint Michael’s Roman Catholic Church, 52 Smith Street, Elizabeth, where a funeral mass will be offered at 10:00AM. In keeping with the church’s accommodations and requests, seventy-five (75) people will be permitted in the church & all are asked to wear masks and social distance appropriately. Following the mass. the prayers of committal will precede Mr. Eugene’s burial in the family plot in Rosedale Cemetery in Linden.
Mr. Eugene, the son of the late Rose-Anastasie Romilus Romage (2013) and Merjuste Eugene, was born in Gonaives, Haiti. He came to the United States in 1997, immediately settling in Elizabeth, New Jersey.
Mr. Eugene was a forklift operator for Woodbridge Logistics in Woodbridge from 1997 until his retirement in 2010. Prior to that he had been an electrician in Haiti and Venezuela, working for various companies and specializing in refrigeration.
Mr. Eugene enjoyed traveling and in his spare time loved watching the game of soccer. He was also very astute when it came to politics and Mr. Eugene like to keep informed about the political world. He really liked to have spirited conversations with family and friends alike, on current events.
In addition to his father, Mr. Eugene is survived by his five children, Frotz Eugene, Valerie Eugene and her husband, Harry Exume, Magdalena Eugene, Trutz Eugene and Bianca Eugene; his three brothers, Luders Jean-Philippe, Ricot Norgaisse and Marcaurel Eugene; his two sister, Edith Augustin and Rita Augustin; his eight grandchildren; his companion, Yves Malie Nazaire and his former spouse, Marie-Denise Petit-Homme.
