Florence Kwiatkowski Obituary

Florence Jean Kwiatkowski, 64, of Sumter, SC, entered through the heavenly gates on December 10th, 2024 surrounded by the love of her family.

We respectfully request that no one arrive at the funeral home prior to the posted visitation times, so as not to intrude on the family’s private time.

Family and friends are invited to the visitation in the Kowalski Funeral Home, 515 Roselle Street, Linden on Monday, January 6th from 9:00-11:00AM. Services will be held during the visitation times. Interment will follow at Rosehill Cemetery, Linden, NJ, at approximately 11:30AM.

Florence was born on July, 11, 1960 to parents Dieudonne and Lumene (Philidor) Morel, in Port-au-Prince, Haiti.  She spent her earlier years growing up in Haiti, before emigrating to Brooklyn, NY, where she lived for 28 years. After Brooklyn, Florence moved to Jersey City, before finally settling in Sumter South Carolina, where she has been since 2018. Florence graduated from Mandl College in New York, and worked as a secretary for the Hospital for Special Surgery in Manhattan, NY for over 25 years before retiring.

Florence was very focused in her faith, and loved to read her bible. She enjoyed gospel music and different hymns and songs. She also had a talent for knitting and crocheting all kinds of blankets and scarves, and was very crafty. Florence enjoyed her television shows, like Judge Judy, to pass the time. She also had a knack for shopping, whether it be online, or at the mall, and loved to browse and pick out different items and such. Above all, Florence was a loving mother and grandmother, and family was truly one of the most important things in her life.

Florence is predeceased by her husband, the late Alfred J Kwiatkowski. She is survived by her daughter, Alexandra Kwiatkowski, her step-children Thais Kwiatkowski, and Jesse Kwiatkowski, her grandchildren Brad Reid, and Belle Bush, her sister Valerie Singh, her brother Michael Morel, and many other extended family and friends.

The Lord has welcomed Florence into his eternal paradise. May she continue to watch over the ones she’s loved and grant them peace knowing she will rest in the house of the Lord forever.
