Evelyn, the daughter of the late Margaret Melito Traettino and the late Joseph Traettino, was born in Newark, New Jersey. She lived in Roselle, New Jersey for twenty-five years, followed by residences in other places in New Jersey, including Spotswood, Barnegat, Washington and currently, Manahawkin.
Evelyn was employed as a clerk in the billing department for Verizon in Cranford for over twenty years, prior to earning her retirement in 1997.
She was deeply religious, attending church every day and saying the rosary. Evelyn was a former communicant of St. Joseph the Carpenter Roman Catholic Church in Roselle and currently attended St. Mary Roman Catholic Church in Barnegat, where she used to volunteer at the various church activities. In her spare time, Evelyn loved to sit by the water and contemplate life and she also enjoyed her membership in the Barnegat Italian American Club. It can be said that Evelyn’s true joy in life emanated from time spent with her family, doing big social events or simply a one on one date for some cake and coffee.
Predeceased by her husband, Valentino Michael Arminio on August 11, 1981, Evelyn is survived by her two sons, Louis M. Arminio and his wife, Jo-Ann and Dr. Val J. Arminio and his fiancé, Angie Lauren; her daughter, Michele McCloskey and her husband, Robert; her two grandchildren, Lindsey Guinther and her husband, John and Michael Arminio and his wife, Brittany and her two great grandchildren, Nathan Louis Guinther and Wyatt Bruce Guinther.
Evelyn was a true old fashioned Italian style mom whose lot in life was to care for her family. She and her husband raised their sons and daughter to be kind, loving and respectful and as Evelyn got older, her children made sure Evelyn was cared for in the same way.
Evelyn was the core of life for her family, and she made sure that no one was ever forgotten and that everyone was always included. Her smile that lit up her face, said it all! In our hearts, we know that Mrs. Arminio will be deeply missed, but she will never be forgotten.
