Mrs. Elva D. Abrego Hernandez, 79, entered the arms of the Lord on Friday, March 10, 2023, surrounded by the love and care of her family.
We respectfully request that no one arrive at the funeral home prior to the posted visitation times, so as not to intrude on the family’s private time.
Family and friends are invited to the memorial visitation in the Kowalski Funeral Home, 515 Roselle Street, Linden on Saturday, March 18th. from 1:00-3:00PM. The cremation in Rosehill Crematory in Linden was private.
Mrs. Abrego Hernandez, the daughter of Francisca Abrego and Rosendo Gonzales was born in Guatemala City, Guatemala and she came to the United States in 2016, settling in Linden, New Jersey.
Mrs. Abrego Hernandez was known for her beautiful needlepoint creations that were framed and treasured by her family. Her abilities were enhanced by her sewing prowess as she made gorgeous clothing, especially dresses. Mrs. Abrego Hernandez’s hands never tired. She even had two green thumbs growing gardens filled with colorful flowers and delicious, bountiful vegetables. Mrs. Abrego Hernandez loved to cook her many appetizing treats for the family whether it was for a small dinner around the kitchen table or a big holiday gathering. Most of all, her joy in life came from the love of her grandchildren and spending as much time as she could with them.
Mrs. Abrego Hernandez was predeceased by her husband, Federico Guillermo Hernandez and her two children, Roberto Hernandez and Jose Manuel Gonzalez.
She is survived by her daughter, Brenda M. Hernandez; her son, Walter Hernandez; her two sisters; Maria Abrego de Castillo and Dina Galeano; her brother, Francisco Abrego Galeano; her fourteen grandchildren and her fourteen great grandchildren.
Elva was the center of life for her family, and she had an abundance of love for everyone in her circle. She will be deeply missed, but never forgotten.
