Mrs. Ellen L. Carson Klutkowski, 96, died Saturday, December 11, 2021 in her home, surrounded by the love of her family.
Family and friends are invited to the visitation in the Kowalski Funeral Home, 515 Roselle Street, Linden on Tuesday, December 14th. from 4:00-8:00PM. On Wednesday, December 15th. at 8:30AM, everyone will start to gather in the funeral home where a prayer service will begin at 9:00AM, followed by the funeral mass to be offered in St. Theresa of the Child Jesus Roman Catholic Church in Linden at 10:00AM. The prayers of committal will precede Mrs. Klutkowski’s burial in the family plot in St. Gertrude Cemetery in Colonia, New Jersey.
Mrs. Klutkowski, the daughter of the late Marie Sattello Carson and the late Robert Carson, was born in Mt. Vernon, New York and she has lived in Linden, New Jersey since 1943.
Throughout her many years in Linden, Mrs. Klutkowski was always very involved in her community. During World War II, Mrs. Klutkowski was a “Rosie the Riveter” at the General Motors plant in Linden. When her children were attending St. Theresa Grammar School, she was a member of its Mother’s Club. Mrs. Klutkowski was a long-time member of both the Ladies Auxiliary Linden Knights of Columbus, Council #2859, and the Linden AARP Chapter #1894. In the senior community, she was a member of the Linden Senior Men and Women’s Club, as well as a member of the Tuesday/Wednesday Senior Citizen Club at the Gregorio Center in Linden.
Mrs. Klutkowski was predeceased by her husband, Chester “Rip” F. Klutkowski (1/21/2014); her two sons, James Klutkowski (5/4/2006) and Robert J. Klutkowski, Sr. (2/5/2021) and her grandson, Robert J. Klutkowski, Jr. (8/14/1999).
She is survived by her three sons, Chester R. Klutkowski and his wife, Kathleen, William Klutkowski and his wife, Sandi and Thomas Klutkowski and his wife, MaryAnn; her eight grandchildren and her five great grandchildren.
Mrs. Kutkowski suffered great loses in her family throughout her life, but her spirit and her devotion to her family never diminished. Mrs. Klutkowski was the center of life for her family, and she will be deeply missed, always loved, and never forgotten.
