Mr. Edward A. Hoehn, 90, entered the arms of the Lord escorted by His heavenly angels on Tuesday, August 13, 2024.
On Friday, August 16th. at 10:30AM, family and friends are invited to gather in the parking area of the Kowalski Funeral Home, 515 Roselle Street, Linden where we will form the traditional funeral procession to St. Gertrude Cemetery in Colonia. The prayers of committal will be offered at 11:00AM in the mausoleum chapel prior to Edward’s entombment in the family crypt.
Edward, the son of the late Josephine Dragan Hoehn and the late August Hoehn was born in Elizabeth, New Jersey. During his early life, he and his family resided in Linden and Clark. When Edward married the love of his life, Mary A. Adolph Hoehn, on April 28, 1973, they started their new life together back in Linden.
Edward served in the U.S. Army during peacetime and afterwards, his work career spanned thirty years as a lineman for P.S.E. & G. Company, based in Irvington, prior to his well-deserved retirement in 1994.
Throughout his life, Edward was a hard worker and even in his free time, his hands were never idle. He loved working with wood and building things. As a youngster, he helped build a house in Lavallette, New Jersey and later erected a barn in upstate New York. Edward enjoyed some relaxation watching television and more often than not, he watched whatever his wife, Mary, wanted to watch. However, on the weekends, they switched roles with Edward glued to any golf being shown and Mary by his side, even though golf was not her favorite. Edward also had a deep devotion to his faith, and he was a communicant and usher at St. Elizabeth of Hungary Roman Catholic Church in Linden.
Predeceased by his sister, Doris Patrick, Edward is survived by his wife of fifty-one years, Mary A. Adolph Hoehn. Their life, love and devotion to each other was a true match made in heaven.
As Mary grieves this great loss and tries to figure out how to go forward in life without her beloved Edward, please offer your support to Mary and your prayers for both Edward and Mary. Edward was the center of life for Mary, and he had an abundance of love for everyone in his circle. He will be deeply missed, but Edward will never be forgotten.
