Mrs. Edith A. Ramirez, 75, shattered the hearts of her beloved family when she left her earthly home on Thursday, April 3, 2025.
We respectfully request that no one arrive at the funeral home prior to the posted visitation times, so as not to intrude on the family’s private time.
Family and friends are invited to the visitation in the Kowalski Funeral Home, 515 Roselle Street, Linden on Saturday, April 5th. from 6:00-8:00PM. The cremation in Rosehill Crematory, Linden will be private.
Edith, the daughter of the late Alejandra Racuay and the late Gelacio Vega was born in Lima, Peru and she came to the United States in 1999, immediately settling in Roselle, New Jersey.
For ten years, Edith worked for Worldwide Flight Services of Elizabeth providing cabin service on the airplanes at Newark Liberty International Airport, until her retirement in 2010.
Edith found joy and solace in her preaching and her devotion to her bible studies as a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Cranford. In her spare time, she loved to garden, growing an abundance of vegetables & fragrant flowers. A great cook, Edith made sure to always include her home grown vegetables in her recipes. She often made traditional dishes from her native Peru, but truthfully, her greatest joy was cooking for her grandchildren. She would happily prepare whatever they requested, even if it meant that she was cooking five or more completely different meals at the same time. She just loved to feed and spoil her family! For Edith, family was the most important thing in the world to her and she made sure to spend every moment with them.
Edith is survived by her husband of fifty-seven years, Miguel D. Ramierz; her five children, Yesica Ruiz, Joe Ramirez, Gina Ramirez and her husband, Wilfredo Saune, Oswaldo Ramirez and Lilia Caddeo; her eleven grandchildren, Enzzo and his wife, Vivian, Janylle, Carlos, Isaias, Joseph, Melina, Fibiana, Noah, Samuel, Alejandro and Kylie; her two great grandchildren, Hazel and Hailey; her four siblings, Camilo Vega. Francisco Vega, Anselma Vega and Rafael Vega as well as Edith’s extended family, her neighbors and her friends, both here in the United States and Peru.
Edith was a bright, shining star that has now been dimmed. As the center of life for her family, she had an abundance of love for everyone in her circle. She will be deeply missed, but Edith will forever remain in our hearts.
