Betty R. Patterson

Betty R. Patterson, 90, passed away peacefully at her home in Jersey City on August 29, 2020.

Family and friends are invited to the visitation which will be held in the Kowalski Funeral Home, 515 Roselle Street, Linden on Sunday, September 6th. from 6:00-8:00PM.  A prayer service will be led by Pastor Edward Owens during the visitation times at approximately 7:00PM. Burial services and cemetery will remain private for the immediate family. 

Mrs. Patterson was born on August 9th 1930 to Amos and Estella Cobbs in Red Springs, North Carolina. Eventually she relocated to and settled in Jersey City, NJ. She was a factory worker for over 20 years at the Cuddle Teen Frocks clothing company. She retired in the early 1980's and has been enjoying time with her family since then. Mrs. Patterson was a member of the New Day Rehoboth Church in Jersey City. She enjoyed playing in her domino club, and watching both wrestling matches and basketball games.

Mrs. Patterson is predeceased by her parents, Amos and Estella, her loving husband Halbert, her children Daisy, Halbert Jr., and Edward Lee Sr., and her grandson Edward Lee Jr. She is survived by her adoring children Flora and her husband Norfleet, Betty Jane, and Rosette, her grandchildren Wilbert, Rumaine, Edward Jr., Timell, Elisha, Melissa, Natecha, Roshorn Jr., and Jadyn, and her siblings John C. Cobbs, and Elizabeth Lide. She is also survived by 18 great-grandchildren, 5 great-great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, extended family and her dear friend Emma Jean. Betty will be sadly missed, but never forgotten.

As per the regulations imposed through the State of New Jersey, there will now be a maximum of one hundred (100) people allowed in the funeral home at one time.  Face protection is also required as per state regulations.  We thank you for your understanding during this time of transition.
