Ms. Barbara E. Kip, 78, died Saturday, June 5, 2021, in the Cranford Rehab and Nursing Center in Cranford, New Jersey.
Visitation is on Sunday, June 13th. from 2:00 – 5:00 PM in the Kowalski Funeral Home, 515 Roselle Street, Linden. On Monday, June 14th., family and friends will gather in the funeral home at 8:30AM where a prayer service will be held at 9:00AM followed by the funeral mass to be offered in St. Theresa of the Child Jesus Roman Catholic Church, Linden at 10:00AM. The prayers of committal will precede Barbara’s burial in the family plot in Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Newark, New Jersey.
Barbara, the daughter of the late Wanda Mary Latawiec Kip and the late John Alfred Kip was born in Elizabeth, New Jersey. She lived in Linden, New Jersey for most of her life before moving to Cranford, New Jersey in 2005.
Barbara was a graduate of the Drake College of Business, Class of 1968. She worked as a data entry operator for over twenty-one years for various companies, such as Rogers Clothing and the Elizabethtown Gas Company, both in Elizabeth, New Jersey and the Random House Publishers in Avenel, New Jersey. Barbara extended her career by working as an assembler in Platronics, followed by Concept Cosmetic Laboratories, both in Linden, New Jersey. Barbara then concluded her work history by a stint in the clerical department of the traffic violations for the Municipal Court in the City of Linden until her retirement in June of 1999.
In her free time, Barbara loved to dabble in the arts, particularly painting in watercolor. Musically, she was a huge Elvis Presley fan. Barbara’s biggest thrill was seeing Elvis in concert in Madison Square Garden in New York City, during the early 1970’s.
Predeceased by her brother, Thomas Kip, Barbara is survived by her brother, James J, Kip and his wife, Karen; her two nephews, Brian Kip and Sean Kip, numerous cousins and friends.
