Anthony Foti Obituary

Mr. Anthony A. Foti, 62, entered the heavenly kingdom of the Lord, welcomed with opened arms by his mom, dad, mother-in-law and so many of his other relatives who Anthony lost over his lifetime.

We respectfully request that no one arrive at the funeral home prior to the posted visitation times, so as not to intrude on the family’s private time.

Family and friends are invited to the visitation in the Kowalski Funeral Home, 515 Roselle Street, Linden on Thursday, August 14th. from 4:00-8:00PM.  During the visitation there will be a prayer service celebrating Anthony by Pastor Fred McCarthy from the Oasis Christian Centre, Rahway.  The cremation in Rosehill Crematory, Linden will be private.

Anthony, the son of the late JoAnn A. Fortunato Foti (2016) and the late Alexander D. Foti (2012) was born and raised in Elizabeth, New Jersey and he has lived in Linden for twenty-nine years.

Anthony was the owner and operator of the Flower Gallery in Linden, along with his husband, Michael Schreihofer for forty years.  During that time, Anthony helped people celebrate so many happy occasions; weddings, birthdays, graduations, Mother’s Day and Valentines Day, to name a few.  He was also there to help families when they had a loss of their loved one, in planning flowers for a funeral.  His kind soul felt every emotion that his flowers evoked in their design and presentation.

Anthony’s family and friends knew that he was renowned for his cooking abilities, usually making the most delicious meals, often with recipes originating from his Mom.  He accentuated those meals with vegetables from his backyard garden that he devoted so much time watering and nurturing along.  Anthony knew everyone and everything going on in Linden and our surrounding community.  He enjoyed eating out in the area restaurants and dinners, thus getting to know and connect with all the local businesspeople.  When he needed some outside entertainment, the casinos were calling his name, especially his two favorite places, Wind Creek Casino in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania or traveling in the opposite direction, Parx Casino in Bensalem, Pennsylvania.  Even with his full plate of life’s work and activities, family was most important to Anthony.  Nothing or no one could ever top “family”.  He had a heart of gold and would move mountains for them if necessary.  If you were fortunate enough to know Anthony, then you knew without a shadow of a doubt that he was most definitely “One in a Million”!

Anthony leaves behind the  broken heart of his spouse, Michael Schreihofer.  They were blessed to be together for twenty-nine years and have been married since 2013.  Also surviving Anthony is his daughter, Michelle Schreihofer and her partner, Saint Serrano; his brother, Gary Foti and his wife, Jill; his beloved pooch, Theo; his future grandson, Baby Lazaro and Anthony’s legion of relatives, friends and neighbors.

Anthony’s light would brighten up the world with joy and laughter and that light has now been dimmed.  Let us join together to offer our prayers and support to Michael and the family as we mourn this untimely loss.  Anthony was a true warrior fighting until the end.  We love you Anthony……we will miss you tremendously, but we will continue to tell the stories of the happiness that you brought into each of our lives.
