Ann M. (Tyburczy) Dente

Ann Marie Dente (nee Tyburczy) passed away peacefully on August 16, 2021 at her residence in Linden, New Jersey.  She was surrounded by the love of her family and many years worth of pictures.

Family and friends are invited to the visitation in the Kowalski Funeral Home, 515 Roselle Street, Linden, NJ, 07036 on Saturday, August 21st.  from 9:30-11:30AM.  A prayer service will be offered towards the end of the visitation time, between 10:50 - 11:10AM,  by Deacon Thomas to prepare for the funeral mass which will be held at St. Theresa of the Child Jesus Roman Catholic Church, Linden at 12:00Noon.  In respect to Ann’s wishes, her cremation following mass will be private.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Ann’s memory to either the Alzheimer’s Association, or the Hospice of New Jersey.

Ann was born in Brooklyn, New York to Frank Tyburczy and Mary Tyburczy (nee) Wargacki.  As a child her family moved to Linden, New Jersey where Ann attended school and she graduated Linden High School in 1953.  Ann met her husband, Peter Dente, in Wildwood, New Jersey and they married in 1961.  Ann and Peter often joked that Peter was very thankful that he and his friend made the turn heading to the Garden State Parkway that weekend, instead of a planned beach trip to New York.  Together they have two children Maria Bryla (nee Dente) and Peter Dente Jr.

Ann worked at General Magnaplate in Linden, New Jersey for many years as an Office Manager/VP.  After retiring, Ann enjoyed visiting her daughter out of state; the trips with her husband, Peter, to Florida in the winter and Wildwood in the Summer and spending time with her son, Pete (who was known as "superman" for always fixing things or working on something) and his family.   She especially enjoyed playing the board game “Trouble” with her grandchildren.  Ann loved Polka music and up until a year ago she still danced the polka with her daughter.  Ann didn’t let her illness stop her from enjoying music and dancing.  In her younger years she attended many polka dances with her friends and Ann has maintained a wonderful group of friends from High School throughout her life.  They called themselves the “Friendship 7”. 

Predeceased by her loving parents, Frank and Mary Tyburczy and her brother Ted Tyburczy, Ann is survived by her husband of 60 years, Peter; her two children Maria Bryla (nee Dente), and her husband, Lloyd, and Peter Dente and his wife Michele (nee Cairns); her four grandchildren Alana, Jake, Frank, Matthew and his wife Emily; her great-grandchild, Ellie and her many wonderful friends and extended family members.   Ann will be sadly missed, but never forgotten.
