Angelito David Obituary

Mr. Angelito David, 85, died Saturday, January 15, 2022, in the Trinitas Regional Medical Center, Elizabeth, New Jersey.

Mr. David, the son of the late Generosa De Leon David and the late Rafael Tuazon David, was born in the city of Balanga, in the province of Bataan in the Philippines.  He came to the United States in October of 1992 and immediately settled in Linden, New Jersey.

Mr. David was a self-employed visual artist for seventy-five years, as well as an art instructor for fifty years.  Even until the time of his death, he continued his love of the arts, and it’s forms of expressions.

Mr. David earned a bachelor’s degree in fine arts from the University of Santo Tomas in Manila in 1957.  He loved photography and playing Filipino cultural music with Rondalla, which is the native string ensemble of the Philippines, and it consists of various instruments such as the bandurria, laud, octavina, mandola and guitarra.

Mr. David is survived by his wife of forty-nine years, Estrella “Teya” Mendoza David; his son, Timothy David and his sisters and brother, Rose David, Paulita Del Rosario, Josie Hernandez, Leonard David, and Teresita David.

With respect to Mr. David’s wishes, his funeral services will be private.

Through his gift as an artist Mr. David brought light and love to the lives of his family, his friends and all those he taught.  Although that light has dimmed, it will continue to light the path for everyone as they struggle to make their way without him.  Mr. David will be deeply missed, but never forgotten.
