Alvin E. Stirling, 80, of Allentown, PA, gained his heavenly wings in the arms of the Lord on October 26th, 2025.
***We respectfully request that no one arrive at the funeral home prior to 4:00 pm so as not to intrude on the family’s private viewing.***
Family and friends are invited to the visitation in the Kowalski Funeral Home, 515 Roselle Street, Linden, NJ, 07036 on Wednesday, November 5th from 4:00-8:00PM. On Thursday, November 6th, guests are invited to join the family at Rosehill Cemetery for the final prayers of committal and interment at approximately 12:00PM.
Alvin was born in 1945 to parents Ronald and Doris (Yearwood) Stirling in Brooklyn, New York, where he spent most of his life before retiring and moving out to Allentown, Pennsylvania in 2009. Alvin worked for over 35 years as a driver for Union Beer, covering various routes and logistical areas throughout his time there. He was also a member of the Freemasons for many years. Alvin enjoyed watching football, and absolutely loved cars. He liked listening to reggae and gospel music, and one of his favorite meals was a well prepared ox tail.
In his later years, as mobility started to lessen, he still would be out and about at all kinds of functions, and of course, his routine stops at Dunkin Donuts. He even dubbed the nickname “The Crow,” because his next move was always a surprise. Above all else, Alvin was a loving father, grandfather, husband, brother, and friend, and he will be greatly missed by many.
Alvin is predeceased by his first wife Victoria Stirling, his sons Alvin Stirling Jr., and Von Stirling, and his grandson Amir. He is survived by his wife Mopelola Stirling, his children Alwyn Stirling Sr. and his wife Zeola, Victoria Wright and her husband Fernandus, Teniesha Stirling, Tyquan Stirling Sr., Princess Akerele, and Olushola Samuel Taiwo, his grandchildren Kehavi, Tyquan Jr., Eric, Erica, and Malik, his great-grandchildren Kassidy, Sir, Brooklyn, Simeon, Bailey, and Kennedy, his siblings Judith Adams, Dorita James, Erica Bush, and Sandra, and many other nieces nephews, extended family and friends.
Although Alvin is no longer with us, his smile is etched into the hearts of the ones he loved, and he will remain with them forever.
