Alan Ambrose Obituary

Mr. Alan J. Ambrose, 72, died Monday, January 18, 2021 in the Trinitas Hospital in Elizabeth, New Jersey.

Alan, the son of the late Katherine Vanuk Ambrose and the late Louis F. Ambrose, was born in Rahway, New Jersey.  He was raised, attended school, and spent his life in his hometown of Linden, New Jersey.

Alan was employed by the State of New Jersey as the maintenance supervisor in the East Jersey State Prison in Woodbridge, New Jersey for twelve years prior to his retirement in September of 2020.

His greatest passion in life was saltwater fishing.  Alan always went out on a small party boat, aptly named "Tagged Fish",  from the Atlantic Highlands and he was usually fishing with the same group of likeminded buddies.  Alan also enjoyed getting in a few rounds of golf, as well as watching all the major sports on television.  He was an avid Miami Dolphins football fan.  “Fins Up!”

Predeceased by his loving parents and his aunts and uncles on both sides of the family, Alan is survived by several cousins and their families, along with his neighbors, co-workers, fishing buddies and friends.

All funeral services will be private for the family, including his burial alongside his parents in the family plot in Clover Leaf Memorial Park Cemetery in Woodbridge, New Jersey.
