William H. de Brigard, Jr.
Mr. William H. de Brigard, Jr., 75, died on Sunday, October 14, 2018 in the Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in Rahway, New Jersey.
Memorial visitation will take place in the Kowalski Funeral Home, 515 Roselle St., Linden, on Thursday, October 18th. from 7:00 – 9:00PM. There will also be a prayer service and a Celebration of Life & a Sharing of Memories starting at 7:30PM in the funeral home
Mr. de Brigard, the son of the late Laura Hinchman de Brigard and the late William H. de Brigard, Sr., was born in Bogota, Columbia. He came to the United States as a baby and lived in Cranford, New Jersey before settling in Rahway, New Jersey fifty-fours years ago.
Mr. de Brigard was an inspector for Hyatt Roller Bearings, a division of General Motors Company, in Clark, New Jersey from 1964 to 1980.
He served in the United States Navy during Peacetime and he was a member of the American Legion Post #5 in Rahway, New Jersey.
Mr. de Brigard was a tennis instructor at Rahway Junior High School, teaching the love of the sport to both adults and children. He also was very active in his church community, where he served as a Deacon for the Cranford Missionary Alliance and was an instructor of the “English as a Second Language” program working from both the Cranford Missionary Alliance, as well as, from his own home.
In his free time, Mr. de Brigard was an avid collector of coins and stamps and he loved to sing, especially Karaoke.
Mr. de Brigard is survived by his wife of fifty-four years, Linda G. Schar de Brigard; his two sons, Christopher K. de Brigard and his fiancé, Mary Argona and Scott L. de Brigard and his wife, Sandra; his brother, Thomas de Brigard; his sister, Helen L. Kalb and his two grandchildren, Nicholas de Brigard and Jillian M. Argona.
With respect to Mr. de Brigard’s wishes, his cremation at Rosehill Crematory in Linden, New Jersey, was private.
