Mr. Steven H. Cappel, 75, died Monday, November 25, 2019 in the Capital Health Regional Medical Center in Trenton, New Jersey, surrounded by the love of his family.
Steven, the son of the late Leona Adikman Cappel and the late Irving Cappel, was born in Newark, New Jersey. He resided in Old Bridge, New Jersey for some time, before settling in Freehold, New Jersey in 1990.
Steven worked in the furniture industry for many years. At one time he was self-employed with his own furniture store business & then he went on to work for the large companies within the industry, including Levitz’s Furniture. Steven concluded his work career with his employment for Seaman’s Furniture in Woodbridge, New Jersey where he was a salesman for eleven years prior to his retirement in 2005.
Everyone knew that Steven’s passion was fishing, specifically salt water fishing on the charter boats with his close knit group of fishing buddies. One of his great joys in life was rising at 3:30am to get to the boat and spend his day with the simple things in life; his enjoyment of being on the water with the smell of the salt air and the potential for what he may catch.
His only other passion was that of his family; his wife of thirty-one years, Carole A. Shivickis Cappel; his two sons, Kenneth M. Cappel and Reid H. Cappel and his wife, Darlene; his daughter, Davina R. Pappas and her husband, Chris; his seven grandchildren; his one great grandchild; his special bond with his brother-in-law, Charles Bernoskie; his niece, Brandi Bernoskie; his nephew, Charles E. Bernoskie and all his friends and fishing companions.
In respect of Steven’s wishes, all the services were private.
