Mr. Pedro Martinez, 83, died Thursday, September 6, 2018 in the Cranford Heath & Extended Care Center in Cranford, New Jersey.

Visitation will take place in the Kowalski Funeral Home, 515 Roselle St., Linden, on Tuesday, September 11^th. from 5:00 – 8:00PM.  With respect to Mr. Martinez’s wishes, he will be privately cremated in Rosehill Crematory in Linden, New Jersey.

Mr. Martinez was born in Ciales, Puerto Rico and came to the mainland United States during the 1960’s.  He lived for a time in Brooklyn, New York before moving to Kenilworth, New Jersey in July of 2017.

Throughout his life, Mr. Martinez held a variety of jobs, as he really was a “jack of all trades”.

His love of sports encompassed baseball, especially the Mets, as well as watching wrestling.  Mr. Martinez also enjoyed watching old western movies, especially any one that had the late John Wayne in it.  To this day, his family raves about what an excellent cook he was & all their favorite dishes that Mr. Martinez made for them to share together as a family.

Mr. Martinez is survived by his five children, Jeanette Martinez, Erik Martinez and his wife, Alexia, Evelyn Martinez, Madeline Rodriguez and her husband, Alexander and Pedro Martinez Jr. & his wife Ashley; his two step-daughters, Angelique Gardevas and her husband, Omar and Elizabeth Jimenez; his brother, Rafael Martinez and his twelve grandchildren.
