Mr. Michael R. Chapka, 64, died on Thursday, November 8, 2018.   

A memorial visitation will be held in the Kowalski Funeral Home, 515 Roselle Street, Linden on Thursday, November 15th. from 4:00 - 7:00PM.

Mike, the son of the late Doris T. Rainville Chapka and the late Frank M. Chapka, was born in Rahway, New Jersey.  He lived his entire life in Roselle, New Jersey before relocating to Carteret, New Jersey seven years ago.

Since finishing high school, Mike has been involved in the freight forwarding and transportation industry.  For the past eight years, he has been the owner and operator of Michael’s Transportation, based in Carteret, New Jersey.

Mike was always about taking care of others and in his free time, he also enjoyed a bit of football, rooting for both the Giants and the Jets, just not at the same time!

Mike is survived by his son, Michael F. Chapka and his wife, Victoria; his daughter, Sarah Uebelein and her husband, Leo; his brother, Thomas J. Chapka and his wife Diane; his two grandchildren, Madison Chapka and Ryan Chapka; his two nephews, Ethan Chapka and Eric Chapka; his niece, Emily Chapka and his former wife and friend, Jamie Chapka.

In accordance with Mike's wishes, the cremation in Rosehill Crematory, Linden, New Jersey was private.
