Ms. June A. Starkey Long, 85, died Saturday, September 7, 2019 in the Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick, New Jersey.
June, the daughter of the late Florence Tanner Starkey and the late Bennie Starkey, was born in Geneva, Ohio and she has resided in South Plainfield, New Jersey for the past fifty years.
June was employed by Mattel in South Plainfield, New Jersey, as a shipping clerk from 1970 to 1985. She then went to work as an office manager for Watkins Motor Lines in Wallingford, New Jersey for ten years before transferring over to FedEx Freight in South Plainfield, New Jersey, where she worked in the billing department for ten years before retiring in 2005.
June was a spur of the moment adventurer, as she enjoyed driving and taking long car rides exploring new territory. She also had very nimble fingers and hands that were always busy, either crocheting, sewing or crafting.
June was predeceased by her son, Robert Anderson (2014); her daughter, Catherine Anderson (1956); her son-in-law, Joseph T. Fresnics (2016); her former husband of twenty-five years, John E. Long (2017) and her five sisters, Lucille Hobson, Marjorie Haggerty, Nadine Freeland, Arlene Thompson and Marilyn Chader.
June is loved and cherished by her surviving family - her three sons, Stephan Anderson, David Anderson and his wife, Sue, Dan E. Long and his wife, Maureen; her two daughters, Vicki Anderson and Nancy A. Fresnics; her ten grandchildren and her twelve great grandchildren.
In respect to June’s wishes, she will be privately cremated.
