Joseph "Cinne" Jean Obituary

Mr. Joseph C. “Cinne” Jean, 79, died Thursday, September 5, 2019 in the home he shared with his daughter, Sandy Jean and her family, in Roselle, New Jersey.

Family and friends are invited to the Council Evangelical Apostolic Church of God, 67 Prince Street, Elizabeth on Saturday, September 14th. where the visitation will be held from 9:00-10:00AM, followed immediately by the funeral prayer service offered by the Dr. Carl Joseph, at 10:00AM.  The prayers of committal will precede his entombment in the family crypt in Rosedale Cemetery in Linden, New Jersey.

Cinne, the son of the late Charlotte Joseph Jean and the late Charles Jean, was born in Haiti.  He came to the United States during the 1970's and lived in Carteret, New Jersey for five years before moving to Roselle, New Jersey twelve years ago.

Cinne was a self-employed cab driver and the owner of his own cab medallion for eight years before he retired from driving in 2007.  During that time, he was a member of the Taxi Association and as such with his medallion, he was able to enter Newark Liberty International Airport grounds to pick up and provide transportation fares. 

Cinne was predeceased by his wife, Marie R. Demostene Jean in August of 2004, as well as, his three siblings; Charleon Jean, Aly Jean and Mrs. Karnold Andre.

Cinne is survived by his seven children; Rony Jean, Anodin Jean, Dieudonne Jean, Gloigens Jean, Nerlande Julien and her husband, Louibert Julien, Roselande Jean, Sandy Jean and her husband, Wilterson Theodat; his brother, Leonce Jean; his sister, Harrios Pierre; his thirteen grandchildren and his numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
