Jean C. Matusiewicz Picone
Mrs. Jean C. Matusiewicz Picone, 71, died suddenly Wednesday, April 24, 2019 in her home, surrounded by her loving family.
Family and friends are invited to the visitation in the Kowalski Funeral Home, 515 Roselle Street, Linden on Sunday, April 28th. from 1:00-4:00PM. On Monday, April 29th. from 9:30-10:00AM everyone will gather in the funeral home where a prayer service will be held at 10:00AM. The prayers of committal will precede her burial in the family plot in Rosedale Cemetery in Linden, New Jersey.
Jean was born in Elizabeth, New Jersey and she lived in Linden, New Jersey before settling in Manchester Township, New Jersey forty-one years ago.
She worked as a laboratory technician in the Engineering Department of Exxon in Linden for seventeen years and she retired in 1981.
Jean was a member of the Manchester First Aide Squad for five years. She was also a voracious reader; always willing to learn whatever she could glean from books - psychology being one of her favorite subjects.
Predeceased by her father, Joseph J. Matusiewicz in 1970, her son, James Picone in 1977 and her sister, Carol Aniello in 2018, Jean is survived by her husband of forty eight years, Joseph Picone; her son, David Picone and his wife, Nichole; her mother, Henrietta Slugai Matusiewicz; her sister, JoAnn Doyle and her husband, William; her granddaughter, Grace Picone; her nephew, William Doyle, Jr. and his wife, Shauna and her niece, Kathryn Byrne & her husband, John.
