Edward Romanowski Obituary

Mr. Edward Walter Romanowski, 89, died Monday, May 20, 2019 in the Hunterdon Medical Center in Flemington, New Jersey.

Family and friends are invited to the visitation in the Kowalski Funeral Home, 515 Roselle Street, Linden on Thursday, May 23rd. from 5:00-8:00PM.  On Friday, May 24th. from 8:30-9:00AM everyone will gather in the funeral home where a prayer service will be held at 9:00AM,  followed by the funeral mass to be offered in the St. Theresa of the Child Jesus R.C. Church, Linden at 10:00AM.  The prayers of committal will precede his burial in the family plot in Rosedale Cemetery in Linden, New Jersey.  In lieu of flowers, donation in Mr. Romanowski’s memory may be made to the Bucks County SPCA, PO Box 277, Lahaska, PA. 18931 or via their website at http://www.bcspca.org

Mr. Romanowski, the son of the late Jennie Gaykowski Romanowski and the late Marion Romanowski was born and raised in Linden, New Jersey.  Mr. Romanowski then resided in Union (Union County) from 1955 to 2001, at which point he transitioned to Lakewood, New Jersey until 2015, when Mr. Romanowski settled in Ringoes, New Jersey.

Mr. Romanowski was a letter carrier for the U.S. Postal Service, working in the main post office on Chestnut Street in Union, New Jersey for thirty years until his retirement in 1989.

Mr. Romanowski was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps.  He was also a representative for the U.S. Postal Service Union and a member of the Union Elks Lodge #1583.

Mr. Romanowski was predeceased by his wife, Elizabeth Sgro Romanowski on October 11, 2012, as well as, his three brothers, Stanley Romanowski, Charlie Romanowski and Rummy Romanowski and his sister, Jeanette Cybulski.

Mr. Romanowski is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Steven and Sarah Romanowski; his three grandchildren, Jennifer Sullivan and her spouse, Mollie Sullivan, Justin Romanowski and his wife, Renee and Caitlin Romanowski and her boyfriend, Sam Shogren; his two great grandchildren, Leo Steven Sullivan and Claire Romanowski; his brother, Mickey Romanowski and his two sisters, Lorraine Romanowski and Mary Ann Murray.
