Mrs. Julie Polifka Doklia, 87, died Wednesday, September 27, 2017 in the McAuley Hall Health Care Center in Watchung, New Jersey.

Visitation will take place in the Kowalski Funeral Home, 515 Roselle St., Linden, on Tuesday, October 3^rd. from 4:00 – 8:00PM.  Parastas services  will be on Tuesday evening at 7:00PM in the funeral home.  On Wednesday, October 4^th. at 8:30AM, family and friends are asked to gather in the funeral home where a prayer service will be held at 9:00AM, followed by the Divine Liturgy to be offered in St. George Byzantine Catholic Church, Linden at 10:00AM.  Burial will take place in the family plot in Rosehill Cemetery in Linden.

Mrs. Doklia, the daughter of the late Mary Dub Polifka and the late Theodore Polifka was born in Elizabeth, New Jersey.  She was a resident of Linden, New Jersey from 1953 to 2014, when she moved to Bridgewater, New Jersey for two years, before settling in Watching, New Jersey in March of 2016.

Mrs. Doklia worked as an accounts payable clerk for CVI Service Group in Plainfield, New Jersey for twenty years before she retired in 1992.

She was predeceased by her husband, Peter Doklia in 2005; her son, Michael P. “Doc” Doklia in 2012; her two brothers, Peter Polifka and John Polifka and her two sisters, Helen Bardys and Catherine Polacik.

Mrs. Doklia is survived by her two daughters, Donna M. Ritchie and Barbara A. Doklia and her three grandchildren, Courtney A. Ritchie, Taylor L. Ritchie and Troy S. Ritchie.

Flowers are always accepted and appreciated by the family.  However, if you are seeking an alternative way to honor Mrs. Doklia, donations in her memory may be sent to the Sisters of Mercy at McAuley Hall Health Care Center, 1633 US Highway 22 West, Watchung, New Jersey 07069.
