Mr. John Gerald Bancey, 48, died Saturday, February 18, 2017 in Springfield, New Jersey.
Memorial visitation will take place in the Kowalski Funeral Home, 515 Roselle St., Linden, on Thursday, March 2nd. from 6:00 – 9:00PM. At 7:30PM during the Thursday visitation, a funeral prayer service will be offered by Reverend Bryan Wolf and a military honors detail will be presented by members of the U.S. Marine Corps. The visitation will end at 9:00PM with a special song preformed by a family friend, Paul, on his acoustic guitar. The cremation, which previously took place in Rosehill Crematory, Linden, New Jersey, was private. The future inurnment of Mr. Bancey’s cremains in a niche in the Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Wrightstown, New Jersey, will also be private.
Mr. Bancey was born in Summit, New Jersey and has lived in various places in Union County, New Jersey, including Kenilworth, Roselle Park and Elizabeth.
His employment history includes his job as postal employee in the U.S. Post Office in Kenilworth, followed by a ten year period when he was a U.S. Customs Agent and a U.S. Federal Marshall. He most recently was involved as a sales associate dealing with residential and commercial real estate, working for various agencies, including the Elite Realtor of NJ in Livingston, Realty Executives in Kenilworth and Alfaro Realty in Linden, for the past ten years.
Mr. Bancey served in the U.S. Marine Corps for five years, eight months and three days, from 1987 to 1992.
He was predeceased by his mother, Darelene DePalma Bancey.
Mr. Bancey is survived by his daughter, Alexandra N. Bancey; his father, John W. Bancey; his sister, Cheryl Bancey; his half brother, Joseph Bancey and his half sister, Krista Bancey.
