Mrs. Irene Gancarz Argast, 72, died Saturday, April 22, 2017 in the Cranford Park Rehabilitation & Health Care Center in Cranford, New Jersey.

A memorial service will be held for Mrs. Argast on Sunday, May 7^th. at 4:00PM in the First United Methodist Church, Westfield, New Jersey.  The cremation in Rosehill Crematory, Linden, New Jersey, was private.

Mrs. Argast, the daughter of the late Irene Damanski Gancarz and the late Walter Gancarz, was born in Newark, New Jersey.  She resided in Scotch Plains, New Jersey for many years, before moving to Cranford, New Jersey two and a half years ago.

Mrs. Argast was employed as a mortgage processor for Hudson City Savings in Paramus, New Jersey for over twenty years, before her retirement five years ago.

She was predeceased by her husband, Herbert Argast in 2010.

Mrs. Argast is survived by her daughter, Sherry Tambornino; her sister, Annette Fisher; her two grandchildren, Tabatha Aguiar and Paul Makowsky and his wife, Ashley and her three great grandchildren, Grace Aguiar, Dante Aguiar and Saraphina Rose Makowsky.
