Mrs. Helen B. Niemiec Pointek, 100, died Saturday, December 9, 2017 in her home, surrounded by the love of her family and friends.

Visitation will take place in the Kowalski Funeral Home, 515 Roselle St., Linden, on Wednesday, December 13th. from 1:00 – 3:00PM. During the visitation, a funeral prayer service will be offered by Reverend Bryan Wolf at 2:00PM.  The cremation in Rosehill Crematory, Linden will be private.

Mrs. Pointek, the daughter of the late Mary Magdalene Lubas Niemiec and the late Albert Niemiec, was born in Glen Lyon, Pennsylvania.  She lived in Ashley, Pennsylvania before moving to Linden, New Jersey in 1943

While living in Pennsylvania, Mrs. Pointek worked as a home care provider for various people for ten years before retiring in 1941.

Prior to her death, Mrs. Pointek was the oldest living member of the St. Theresa’s Church Ladies Auxiliary.  She was a member of the Tremley Point Senior Citizens Club and was a den mother for ten years for the Cub Scouts Den #42, all in Linden.

Mrs. Pointek was predeceased by her husband, Joseph James Pointek Sr. on November 9, 2000; her daughter, Irene E. Sheehy on July 8, 2017 and her grandson, Raymond Sheehy in 1999.

Mrs. Pointek is survived by her son, Joseph James Pointek Jr.; her granddaughter, Cathy Bellomo; her grandson, Ronald Sheehy and her three great grandchildren, Jared Bellomo, Alyssa Bellomo and Raymond Sheehy.
