Gary W. Kroboth
Private services were held for Mr. Gary W. Kroboth, 74, who died Sunday, March 25, 2018 in the Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital at Rahway, New Jersey.
Mr. Kroboth, the son of the late Pauline Koszty Kroboth and the late John S. Kroboth Jr., was born in Rahway, New Jersey. He lived in Rahway for twelve years and then moved to Linden, where he resided until 1978. Mr. Kroboth then relocated to Long Island, New York for a time, before returning to New Jersey, to spend the remainder of his life in Old Bridge, followed by Brick for ten years and then back to Linden in 2006.
Mr. Kroboth was a truck driver for twenty years, working for various companies through the Union Locals in both New Jersey and New York, until he retired from driving in 2006. During the 1970’s and until he moved to Long Island, New York, Mr. Kroboth was very active in the family run business, the Parkside Inn in Linden, New Jersey. Upon his return to Linden in 2006, Mr. Kroboth then became the manager of the Parkside Inn.
Mr. Kroboth was a veteran of the Vietnam War, serving in the U.S. Coast Guard.
He was a member of the Teamsters Union, belonging to the many locals in both New York and New Jersey. Mr. Kroboth also enjoyed tending bar for the Knights of Columbus in Toms River for several years, while he lived in South Jersey.
Predeceased by his wife, Catherine T. Zeman Kroboth in 2008 and his brother, Gene S. Kroboth in 2004, Mrs. Kroboth is survived by his brother, J. Robert Kroboth.
