Mrs. Frances D. Slugai, 74, died Sunday, March 5, 2017 in the Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital at Rahway, New Jersey.

Visitation will take place in the Kowalski Funeral Home, 515 Roselle St., Linden, on Thursday, March 9^th. from 3:00 – 7:00PM.  On Friday, March 10^th.  at 9:30AM, family and friends are ask to gather in the Kowalski Funeral Home where a prayer service will be held at 10:00AM by Pastor Chris Morante, Senior Pastor of the Evangel Church, 1251 Terrill Road, Scotch Plains, New Jersey.  Burial will follow in the family plot in Rosehill Cemetery in Linden, New Jersey.

Mrs. Slugai was born in Jersey City, New Jersey and she lived in Garwood, New Jersey before moving to Linden, New Jersey in 1973.

Her employment career spanned both a twenty-three period where she worked as a keypunch operator for several companies in the Union County area, followed by Mrs. Slugai’s work for Merck & Co. in Rahway, New Jersey as a secretary in the Research Department for twenty-five years before she retired ten years ago.

Predeceased by her sister, Joan Clarke, Mrs. Slugai is survived by her husband of forty-four years, Joseph F. Slugai, her daughter, Lisa Giambalvo and her husband, Richard, her brother, Arthur Merlo and her two grandchildren, Erica and Alex Giambalvo.
