On Saturday, August 26, 2017, Mr. Dennis G. McBride, 68, went to rejoin the former Miss Lorraine D. Gasior, who was the love of his life for thirty years.
Visitation will take place in the Kowalski Funeral Home, 515 Roselle St., Linden, on Wednesday, September 6th. from 2:00 – 4:00PM & 6:00 – 8:00PM. On Thursday, September 7th. at 9:30AM, family and friends are asked to gather in the funeral home where a prayer service will be held at 10:00AM, followed by the prayers of committal and the burial in the family plot in Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Linden.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to the Vietnam Veterans of America, Inc., Eastern N.J. Chapter #779, PO Box 1763, Linden, NJ 07036.
Mr. McBride, the son of the late Helen McKeever McBride and the late Thomas D. McBride, was born in Elizabeth, New Jersey on July 4, 1949. He resided in Elizabeth, New Jersey for twenty-four years before moving to Linden, New Jersey for fourteen years and then settled in Melbourne, Florida in 1996.
Upon his graduation from Linden High School, Mr. McBride served his country for two years in the U.S. Army and returned from Vietnam a decorated disabled veteran.
A graduate of the Union County Police Academy and the New York City Municipal Police Academy, Mr. McBride became a railroad police officer in 1970. He was employed by Conrail and Mr. McBride retired in 1993 with the rank of Lieutenant after twenty-three years on the job.
Mr. McBride remained an active member of the Fraternal Order of Police, the Disabled American Veterans and the Blue Badge Society.
He was predeceased by his wife, Lorraine D. Gasior McBride on January 21, 2010 and by his brother, Thomas D. McBride Jr..
Mr. McBride is survived by his two sons, Dennis G. McBride Jr. and Kyle M. McBride and his wife, Mary; his brother, Glenn D. McBride and his wife, Karen; his sisters, Cathy McBride and Ilene McBride and several nieces and nephews.
