Mr. Fields was a faithful and very active member of the Edward Waters College National Alumni Association and Polk County Alumni Chapter. He was committed to supporting his alma mater, Edward Waters College and graced our campus regularly.
He interacted with the students and displayed his dedication to the College by constantly giving back. His contagious smile and courageous spirit will be greatly missed.

Mike and family,

We are so sorry to hear about your father's passing. Reading his tribute here and what everyone is saying about him, is quite impressive. He sounds like he was such an inspiration to everyone that had the pleasure of knowing him. Mike, I can see people saying those same kind words about you. Rest in peace Dale and God Bless the entire Fields family.

Dale was one of the most pleasant people to work with. He always had the children's best interests first.
Beyond that he was an outstanding father to Michael and I had so much joy in not only teaching Michael, but working with Dale. I even remember on my first trip to Israel (where I am right now) he made me promise to bring him back a jar of sand, which of course I did.
He will be sorely missed by all who knew him.

Uncle Dale, your earthly presence will be deeply missed. My heartfelt condolences to my family. Your great niece and her family will definitely miss your loving and humorous personality. I appreciate the love you shared with us and the countless stories of your childhood in Lake Wales. These past years when visiting Lake Wales and seeing you around town were memorable. My kids and husband just loved the love you displayed and mentorship towards our family. Visiting home (Lake Wales) will not be the same, my son loved for you to coach him on perfecting his craft and skills on the basketball court. My daughter found inspiration in you as she focused on completing her 2 year degree while attending high school. You were loved unconditionally.

To The Family Of Dale Fields;
The Washington family has been knowing Dale all of our lives. His father baptize me at the age of 6. We was glad Dale came back home where he supported by son as a coach and he mentored my grandson Oshey Washington and convinced him to attend Edward Waters college where he is doing good. I am sorry Dale left us We was with him in the hospital in Lake Wales and the Lord gave him strength enough to joke and smile and fuss at me before he left. The Washington family loved Dale and he will be dearly missed. Rest in peace my friend.
